When it comes to Cyprus people think of night life, cheap drinks and great sunshine. Now they wouldn’t be wrong however cyprus has so much more to it. There are interests for everyone throughout the island. In this Blog I will taking you through the places that are a must see when visiting the City of Limassol.

Limassol – Marina

If you plan on visiting Limassol one of the main attractions is the Marina. Known as the “Monte Carlo of cyprus” the marina has a great selection of bars, resturants and cafes. Whether you want a light bite to eat or a three course meal there are choices for everyone. When going out for an evening meal make sure on prime nights like Friday and Saturday you book to avoid dissappointment.

Beaches Of Limassol

When Visiting not just Limassol but Cyprus in general, a trip to the beaches are an absolute must. Where we tend to visit is DaNala Beach. Only a 5 minute drive from the marina the DaNala beach has golden sands and clear waters. Even during peak times there is always sun loungers avaiable and with cafes and restaurants right on the beach there is waiter service straight to where your placed on the beach.

Limassol Castle – Old Harbour

If your somebody who dosen’t want to lounge on the beach all day and want to some exploring, Limassol Castle is well worth a visit. Situated a few lilometeres away from the Marina in the old harbour lies a medevil castle that dates back to 1193. Surrounding it are many cafes and restaurants which again can get busy on the weekends. Tickets to view the castle are easy to obtain at the entrance and booking in advance is not required.

Tsirio Stadium

For you sporting enthusiasts the Tsirio Football stadium will be a attraction. Football in Cyprus is very popular with all resturants and bars showing local football. Built in 1975 and with a capacity of 13,331 the Tsirio Stadium was the home of the Cyprus National Team. It is shared by 3 teams in the Cyprus Football League so is often in use so the opportunity to attend a game is likely when visiting Limassol.

Tickets are avaiable on the 3 clubs website who are AEL Limassol, Apollon Limassol and Aris Limassol. I would advise booking before visiting as there is limited information within the City of Limassol, however if you ask some locals in the City they will be more than happy to help.
